I finished a pair of 18th century stays yesterday. Big woop. I don't know what it is but I feel kind of 'meh' about them.
They're white, linen and cotton, bound with bias tape, boned with plastic bone and zip ties. The pattern is the same as with the Chinoiserie stays, though I arranged the boning a bit differently.
A couple of photos here:
The angle of the straps is a bit off. Might fix that later. |
They're lovely! Stays are a "love-hate" sort of garment, I think. Maybe you are not in love because they are plain colored? I think they're gorgeous, personally :-)
VastaaPoistaThank you! No, I just really hate stay-making :)
PoistaGlad I'm not the only one disliking staymaking. Meanwhile, they look fine to me :)

VastaaPoistaThey look great, no matter how uch you hate them during the making!
VastaaPoistaThank you!
PoistaHahahaha! Ok, I'm not laughing about your loathing of your beautiful stays, but rather at your opening statement! What a fun way to start your post! LOVE it! I think your stays are really fabulous and give you a lovely shape!
VastaaPoistaBlessings!
